About Travelodge Bath Waterside

A restaurant on site and drinks available in the rooms make Travelodge Bath Waterside a straightforward base for breakfast and an evening meal without having to venture far, though a pub and bar nearby give another option if you fancy a change of scene. The hotel sits alongside the River Avon, within walking distance of Bath's city centre and the train station, which makes it a practical choice whether you're arriving by car or rail.

There are 125 rooms across three floors, all with en-suite bathrooms, and accessible rooms are available. A lift serves all floors, and reception is staffed around the clock. Some rooms show their age and general upkeep can be inconsistent, so it's worth bearing in mind if a polished finish matters to you, though staff are generally quick to help where they can.

Parking is available on site at the front of the hotel for a charge, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those who need one. Pets are welcome, and a golf course is nearby for anyone wanting to fit in a round during their stay. From here, Bath's historic centre, shops and dining are all within easy reach on foot.

Lovely location, close to the city centre and main attractions—about a 10-minute walk. The room was nice and spacious, with a lovely view of the river. Unfortunately, the showers were disappointing. The water pressure was very poor, making it difficult to have a proper shower. The mattress was slightly uncomfortable, and we both woke up with neck pain the next day. Breakfast options were reasonable, but it was very busy, and they kept running out of items like butter, toast, eggs, and croissants, which meant a lot of waiting around. The car park was cheaper than other places at £10.50 for 24 hours. We managed to find a space straight away, even though the website mentions limited parking. It is limited, but we were lucky. Overall, it was good value for the price we paid. If the shower facilities and mattress were improved, it would have been much better. We also enjoyed the 2-for-1 happy hour drinks and had a lovely evening meal.

We stayed at the Travelodge Bath Waterside for one night in April 2026. The hotel is centrally located and very easy to find by car, making it a convenient base for visiting the city. Parking on arrival is plentiful and chargeable at a rate of £10.50 for 24 hours, which makes it a good option to leave the car in the hotel car park and walk or take a taxi into the city centre for sightseeing. Payment machines for parking are available at the bottom of the steps leading to the front doors, and there are also a number of posters explaining that payment can be made online or via an app if preferred. The reception area is furnished with a number of comfortable chairs and tables, creating a relaxed and welcoming first impression. Staff on duty were very friendly and helpful, processing check-in quickly and even offering several room options. We chose one slightly further from reception but with the benefit of a bath, which suited us well. The room itself was clean and tidy, with tea and coffee facilities provided — exactly what you would expect from a Travelodge hotel. It was comfortable and perfectly adequate for a short stay. We booked breakfast for the morning at a cost of just over £10 per person. There were plenty of continental options available for a lighter start to the day, along with all the traditional components of a full English breakfast. One small observation is that the hot food was not kept under a heat source, so it was not quite as hot as it could have been. The coffee machine was also temporarily out of order during our stay, and the coffee produced was best described as tepid. However, staff were quick to offer alternatives, including instant coffee and tea, which worked perfectly well. Overall, this was a very convenient, clean and welcoming place to stay for the night, and we would certainly use the hotel again when visiting Bath.

Located within walking distance of the centre. Car park for customers only but not run by Travelodge and paid for separately (on app or at machine). Car registration MUST be validated on pad at reception or risk fine. Basic but functional and comfortable rooms. Good coffee machine in room (Lavazza). No air con, but cooler fan operating within room which was sufficient. Friendly staff. Bar and restaurant serves breakfast and pizza meals (paid for separately, but good value). Would stay here again.

A typical Travelodge with the advantage of on site parking (pay extra) There was no air conditioning (there was a fan) in the room I had yet the corridor was cool. Remember to bring shampoo as there was only shower gel supplied. Breakfast was excellent well freshly stocked at just over £10 Easy flat walk into the city centre or nearby (4 minute walk) bus stop. The hotel is right next to where the Kennet & Avon canal meets the River Avon
