Our group of 3 friends had a delightful stay under Jim and Caroline’s care. Lovely chat, cooking, and awesome recommendations for our touring of the Southern Hebrides. We’ll be back 🐏

Wonderful gem just outside of Bowmore. Jim and his wife, Caroline were amazing hosts. We had a made to order breakfast each morning that was enjoyed with a lovely view as the sun came up. The bed was superb, we haven't slept so well in a long time and the property is so quiet. It was a pleasant walk to and from Bowmore. Jim also offered a very reasonable taxi service and drove us around to each of our whiskey destinations during our stay and provided us with a great deal of local knowledge and history as we made our way around the island. We will definitely have to come back again. Cheers Jim!

We stayed two night with Jim and Caroline and had an absolutely wonderful time. The rooms are very large and comfortable with a large en-suite bathroom. The living and dining areas are private to the guests and have remarkable views out onto the islay plains. If you're doing a group booking, you can have the whole house to yourself. Jim and Caroline make breakfast in the morning at the time you want with a wide, varied, and very tasty menu. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and have excellent knowledge of the island. Jim is both a tour guide and runs a local taxi service, so you are well set there as well. We couldn't recommend this place enough.

We had a fantastic time staying in Jim's B&B. The house and the rooms are spotless, spacious and well-appointed. Jim and Caroline are also great hosts and couldn't have been more keen to help us enjoy our holiday. Caroline speaks French and Jim is always keen to practice his German, so that could be helpful if you're coming from overseas. The breakfasts were great with loads of choice and all made to order. Jim and Caroline were more than happy to accommodate us fussy vegetarians. I particularly enjoyed Jim's morning briefings in front of the island map where he would help us make a weather-suitable plan for the day based on his encyclopedic knowledge of every sight, shop and business on the island. The B&B is also a bit of a bird-watchers paradise with lapwings, thrushes, swallows and finches of all kinds continually present in the gardens and surrounding areas. Despite being out in the countryside, it's also just a 20-minute stroll into Bowmore, which is handy when the weather is good and you want to have a few whiskies without taking the car! Overall, we loved our stay and would be back in a heartbeat.
