About Four Points by Sheraton Edinburgh
An Italian restaurant and bar anchor Four Points by Sheraton Edinburgh, alongside a breakfast spread that guests find one of the better parts of a stay here. There's also a snack bar and room service for anyone who'd rather eat without leaving their room, plus drinks available in-room for something more relaxed.
The 69 rooms have been renovated and come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi, spread across four floors served by a lift. Some bathrooms have been flagged as not always well kept, and service can be a little inconsistent, but the rooms themselves are generally described as comfortable, and staff are often praised for being helpful. Facilities extend to meeting rooms, business services, laundry and porter and concierge support, plus accessible rooms for those who need them. There's no parking on site.
Set on Haymarket Terrace, the hotel is well placed for reaching Edinburgh's city centre and Murrayfield, with transport links close by making it straightforward to get around. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries are nearby, and the hotel can also host weddings for those planning an event rather than just a stay.
What guests say
Negatives We stayed 3 nights in July and was given room 307. Immediately arriving on level 3 was a smell like mildew or mold or such. The room was WAY worse. The shower leaked severely into the bathroom. The carpet around the beds appeared damp. And we both woke the next day sick. The front desk was told and we were moved and they appeared concerned. However on our last day they just put the next guest in the room anyway (we were next door). Another person on our tour who is sensitive to molds got sick and was one floor down. These review responses by the hotel express concern for health and safety but they clearly don’t. Quite far from royal mile Positives Very close to team, train, and bus.

Stayed at this hotel last night and will never return. Checked in fine, reception staff were friendly enough. Went to the room, mould all around the shower and the bath was dirty. Went down to the bar to have lunch and were told the chef was running late and food hadn’t been started yet. (Went elsewhere for food). My husband and I went out and upon return went to make x2 cups of tea. Only decaffeinated tea bags in our room and upon asking for normal tea bags we where told there was none available. Pillows on the bed were extremely uncomfortable and had a plastic like feeling to them. Attended breakfast the next morning and staff informed us they had no eggs. Extremely poor considering 99% of their menu choices for breakfast contains eggs to that meant a fry with no egg was the only choice. Breakfast was cold. Found staff at breakfast not friendly in the slightest. For the price of the room for x1 night our stay did not reflect this in the slightest have stayed in way cheaper hotels and much better quality/service. Will never return.

Recently refurbished but they haven't bothered to do the whole room. The bathroom has huge cracks and chips in the sink & bath. The plug was also missing and the metal broken. The toilet flush was broke. The first time I've stayed at a hotel with mouldy toilet roll, mouldy shower enclosure and mouldy windows. A colleagues room has a large area of wet carpet most likely from a roof leak which had bubbled the ceiling paint in several places, their top floor bathroom window was also severely cracked. The bedroom itself looked nice and had USB sockets for easy charging. It's just a shame it's clearly been refurbished on a budget. The bed was comfy enough and the hotel is extremely quiet as it's not on a busy road, so that's good. The AC controls need better lighting & it also auto turns off after so many hours, so doesn't stay on throughout the night, which is frustrating. They could try get the bins collected more often if that's the view you end up with. Breakfast, the chef didn't turn up. So no hot food. The girl was very apologetic and she was lovely, but it left us with some random salami, some stale bread and a large dish of baked beans.

Due to the cancellation of our Lufthansa flight, we ended up staying at the Four Points by Sheraton Haymarket in Edinburgh and were extremely impressed by the service and staff. Both the Manager on Duty and the reception team were highly professional and solution-oriented in addressing our needs. In addition, the restaurant and its service were outstanding. The entire team made a stressful travel situation much easier for us. Five stars for the hotel's service! Thank you very much for the excellent hospitality.
