Shanklin sits on the Isle of Wight's southeastern coast, within walking distance of the seafront and a short train journey from the mainland. The Lodge occupies a quiet corner of the town, purpose-built as a standalone wing with its own entrance, garden and parking. The single bedroom holds a double bed; the bathroom is an ensuite with a shower. Downstairs, a living room and kitchen flow into a conservatory that opens onto an enclosed rear garden with patio and seating.
The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and washing machine, so cooking and laundry are straightforward. A television and DVD player are in both bedroom and living room. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. One dog can stay at no extra cost. There is parking for one car on site, and a bike store if you arrive by train; the island is known for its cycling routes along former railway lines and bridleways. A cot and stairgate are available if needed. The property does not permit smoking.
The Old Village, theatre and beach are within half an hour on foot. This suits couples wanting a complete break, or anyone exploring the island with a dog in tow.
