About The Hanover Hotel
A made-to-order breakfast and a lively pub downstairs set the tone at The Hanover Hotel, on Hanover Street in Liverpool city centre. The bar has a proper buzz to it, and there's a restaurant and snack bar on hand too, so guests don't need to stray far for food and drink. Complimentary tea and coffee are provided in addition to the cooked breakfast, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful.
The hotel has 26 rooms spread across two floors, including family rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and free WiFi. Rooms are kept clean and the showers get particular praise, making this a solid, no-frills option rather than a luxury stay. Being above a pub with entertainment on offer, some rooms can pick up outside noise, so light sleepers might want to bear that in mind.
Beyond the bedroom, there's a games room and the hotel doubles as a wedding venue, while nearby options stretch to a golf course, restaurants and further pubs. The location is handy for Lime Street Station and the city centre's key attractions, though there's no parking on site, so arriving by train or on foot is the easier route.

What guests say
Extremely close to the train station and several bus stops - it was very convenient. The staff were all so friendly. Nice English breakfast. The room is quite small so I had to reorganize my stuff a few times a day. But in total it was a cosy stay. Thank you.

Extremely friendly staff and great location. You need to be aware that there is noise from outside, but that is pointed out several times. So I knew it, and to be far, it wasn't as bad as I expected.

Great little hotel, would highly recommend, very well run, staff are very helpful and will go the extra mile for you. Room was spotlessly clean, breakfast was included and made to order. The only negative was the noise on a night from surrounding night life. I already expected this from reading previous reviews so I came prepared with ear plugs, and if you close windows it's not to bad. Very enjoyable stay.

Super noisy but we knew this beforehand do this isn't factored in to our rating. What are the room's like? Our room was prerty dated, but was in good, clean condition. Good shower and plenty of soaps etc. Towels included. Couple of packs of biscuits and plenty of tea. Coffee and hot chocolate available. Bed was comfy and the linen was pretty decent quality. What about the breakfast? Breakfast was better than expected, and the staff were really nice and friendly. So top marks there. We had the full English. Sausage was not brilliant and the bacon was a little salty but both well cooked. Worth noting that it was made to order and arrived hot, not warm and uninviting like some places. This really makes a difference for us. What about the location? The location brilliant if you want to be in the heart of Liverpool. You really won't do much better. Value for money? I defy you to find a better hotel in this price range slap bang in the centre of any major city. Great value for money. Would we return??? Without hesitation YES.
