About Diamonds Villa

A stocked selection of in-room drinks gives Diamonds Villa a homely start, with restaurants and eateries close by for guests who fancy heading out for a proper meal. There's no on-site dining beyond this, but with York's centre within easy reach, that's rarely a problem.

The B&B has just eight rooms, kept simple and functional, with free WiFi and 24 hour reception on hand for whenever guests arrive or need assistance. Staff are consistently mentioned as helpful, and the location near the city centre makes it a practical base for exploring on foot. It's worth noting that some rooms have been reported as tired in places, with beds not to everyone's taste, so it suits those after a straightforward stay rather than polish.

Parking is available nearby for a charge, useful for those arriving by car, while entertainment options and places to eat sit within easy walking distance. For guests wanting quick access to York's historic landmarks without paying city-centre hotel prices, Diamonds Villa offers a no-frills option close to it all.

The location is good a 25 minute walk from York Station, a 10 minute walk from the City Centre and a 40 minute walk from the Stadium. I was able to leave my bag before check-in at Diamonds Villa and my bag after check-out at Diamonds Inn which is a 10 minute walk. I stayed in a room at the back with a seperate entrance. The room was quiet, had a double bed and was big enough, the ensuite bathroom was bigger than normal. There are small supermarkets, cafes for breakfast and pubs close by.

Staff were very accommodating when a last minute change cropped up, and they dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Location was great for what we needed, a 5 minute walk to York hospital and 15 minute walk into the city centre. The room itself wasn't great, holes in the wall of the shower, water ran out of the shower onto the bathroom floor. The decor was old, dated and definately needed a refresh. But despite the general state it was useable and clean and did exactly what I needed, a place to lay my head.

This room was perfect for my needs. Yes it was a small room but what more did I need? A comfy bed, shower and toilet. The room was warm but there was extra heating to use if necessary. The lady I spoke with on the phone was lovely and welcoming and a joy to speak with. I'd happily return there!

The room was clean with 1 double and 1 single bed and wifi. I needed to call the lady for a few times to sort it out everything and she was friendly and patient with me. The villa is near the cinty centre like 20 minutes walk. Across the villa is a shop opened until 10pm. If I'm visiting again York, I'll definitely stay there again.
