Family-run farm campsite two miles from the village with mountain views

About Rynys Farm Camping Site

Two miles above Betws-y-Coed along a quiet lane, this family-run farm campsite wins loyal regulars with its unhurried charm and genuine Snowdonia views. Pitches roll across gently sloping fields overlooking the Conwy valley and distant peaks, and the owners have resisted any temptation to expand into a sprawling holiday park. Instead, facilities remain refreshingly simple: a converted stone barn houses hot showers (coin-operated), washing-up sinks and a small shared kitchen with microwave and fridge for tent campers travelling light.

Rules keep the peace—no amplified music, raised fire pits only, and strict quiet from 11pm—so this suits walkers seeking a straightforward base for Gwydir Forest or the high hills rather than families after entertainment. A handful of shepherd's huts and statics offer an alternative to canvas, electric hook-ups are available for a fee, and dogs are welcome on leads. Fresh eggs sometimes appear for sale, and summer weekends book out well ahead among those who return year after year.

Straight to the point We had an absolutely fantastic two-night stay at Rynys Farm Camping, and as first-time campers, we honestly couldn't have picked a better place. The location is simply outstanding – less than 10 minutes from Betws-y-Coed, yet it feels like you're miles away from everything. The views across the valley are breathtaking from every direction, and waking up to sheep grazing nearby, hearing the occasional cow in the distance, and even meeting the owners' friendly goat made the whole experience feel authentic and peaceful. The campsite is beautifully maintained, with plenty of flat pitches despite being on a hillside, making it easy to set up a tent. The facilities exceeded our expectations. Everything was spotlessly clean, and having access to a kitchen with a microwave, toaster, pots, pans, fridge, freezer and hairdryer was a huge bonus. The showers and laundry facilities were also very reasonably priced. The owners were incredibly warm, friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They took the time to explain everything and gave us useful information about the local area, which made us feel at home straight away. What stood out the most was the peace and quiet. The no-music policy is respected, and by 11 pm the campsite is completely silent. The skies are beautifully dark at night, making it the perfect place to switch off and relax. Our children had plenty of space to play safely, and it was lovely to see families, couples, campers, motorhomes and dogs all enjoying the same peaceful atmosphere. If we had to suggest one small improvement, it would be offering a few local farm products such as fresh eggs, milk or other local produce. It would fit the campsite perfectly and be a nice extra for guests. That said, it's only a suggestion rather than a criticism. Overall, this campsite exceeded all our expectations. Peaceful, clean, friendly, stunning scenery and a perfect base for exploring Snowdonia. We will definitely be coming back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing camping experience. 10/10 – highly recommended.

We stayed at Rynys Farm Camping Site with our family on a tent pitch with electric hook-up, and honestly it was one of the best camping experiences we have ever had. The campsite is in a beautiful and peaceful location, surrounded by nature, green hills and amazing views. It is very close to Betws-y-Coed and perfectly placed for visiting Snowdonia. The atmosphere is calm, relaxing and very family-friendly, which made our stay even better. Everything was excellent. The toilets and showers were very clean and well looked after. The washing-up areas were also clean and practical, and everything around the campsite was tidy and organised. The electric hook-up worked perfectly, and our pitch was great for our tent and family. For us, this campsite was absolutely top quality. It has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable camping trip. We have stayed at different campsites before, but this is honestly the best campsite we have ever been to. A big thank you to the owners for keeping such a beautiful, clean and welcoming place. We would definitely come back again and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Snowdonia. 10 out of 10 from us! Kind regards, Kristine Voronecka

What a lovely little campsite set in the beautiful picturesque hills and valleys near Snowdon and close to Betsw y coed. We just drove to North Wales and looked on google maps on the day, no booking and found this little gem. At £35 per night for my caravan, 2 adults, 4 children, electric, NO CHARGE for awning and gazebo I was so chuffed to find somewhere that is keeping an honest price and not trying to squeeze every last pound from us. For that reason alone, plus the lovely views, fantastic owners, clean and tidy facilities and all round great location I for 1 will be returning and I would suggest anybody looking to stay in the area to consider this little piece of heaven! 10/10 🙏🙏👌👍💕 Pro tip, if coming in a large motorhome/caravan be prepared for a slow 1st gear pull up the hill upon entering the campsite. 8.5 metre touring caravan pulled with a transit still made it fine. In Autumn with wet leaves could be tricky. I hope this helps all who read. My Thanks to the campsite and hosts 🙏
