Step through the door of Barn Owl Cottage into a single-storey space that spreads across living, dining and kitchen in one open plan. The living area has a television, Blu-ray and DVD players, and French doors that open onto a patio. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer included. One bedroom holds a king bed with its own ensuite shower room; the other has two single beds served by a separate bathroom with bath and shower. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are all provided.
The cottage sits on the North Third Reservoir estate near Stirling, four miles from the city centre but far enough out to feel genuinely rural. Parking for two cars is on site. A shared garden courtyard and bike store are available to guests. The property does not permit smoking. The owners are based on site and can help with local advice if needed. Nearby Stirling has castle, museums, shops and restaurants; the motorway junction is five miles away for trips further afield.

Lovely location, very quiet, feels away from everything but good access into Stirling. Wildlife all around us . Friendly owners, very welcoming. Holiday cottages are very nicely furnished. Excellent location if you want to get away from it all

My husband and I stayed here as part of a nine-day vacation in Scotland, and we wished we had made it the only place we stayed. The hosts are so fantastic, we could have spent hours and hours visiting with them. The cottages are surrounded by farmland and so you may wake one morning to find some sheep grazing outside the door with a pair of lambs, and the next day perhaps the cows might walk by with their calves. It's really a beautiful, special place to get to visit.

Fabulous week, we stayed in Kestrel the views are fantastic and the cottage was clean and very well equipped. We had a very generous welcome pack on our arrival and wanted for nothing during our stay. George was so friendly and helpful. Great area with plenty to do and explore. Thanks George for a lovely week 😀

Lovely location with great views of the resevoir/loch. Some of the cottages look tired and shabby from the outside (not a great first impression) looks as though work has started to fix the facias ect. The cottage would benefit from a deep clean, under beds and furniture also skirting in bedroom as there was alot of dust. The microwave and kitchen cupboards had lots of sticky fingerprints from previous guests. The welcome pack was very generous.
