Stockdale Cottage

Through the front door of Stockdale Cottage, you enter a ground-floor living room with a wood burner and television, next to a kitchen/dining space equipped for cooking and eating in. The kitchen has an electric cooker, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one with a double bed and one with two singles—and a bathroom with bath, shower and heated towel rail. The cottage is a renovated stone terrace property, set back from the road but within easy reach of Ambleside's shops, cafes and pubs.

Outside is an enclosed, lawned garden with patio seating, garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue. Two small cars or one standard saloon can park on site. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; the wood burner comes with initial fuel. The cottage suits families or small groups, and the location is ideal for walking—Lake Windermere is ten minutes on foot, and the surrounding fells and woods offer routes up Wansfell, into Blue Hill woods (bluebells in spring) or north towards Kirkstone. The property does have steps from road level and internal stairs that are steep and narrow. No smoking inside.
