Marwhin House is a detached three-bedroom cottage on the 3000-acre Crofts Estate, with electricity, bed linen and towels all included. The property sleeps six across a super king bed and four single beds, with two bathrooms – one ensuite to the main bedroom. Downstairs there is a living room with an open fire, a dining room with Freeview television and DVD player, and a kitchen equipped with an electric hob, Rayburn, microwave and full-size fridge-freezer. A utility room with washer-dryer and separate toilet complete the ground floor.
The cottage sits within its own garden and has on-site parking. Woodland walks and hillside trails begin at the door, with views towards the Solway Firth and Cumbrian Hills. Dumfries, 12 miles away, has shops, restaurants, museums and a theatre. Castle Douglas (8 miles) is known for independent food shops and local producers. Threave Gardens, the Galloway Kite Trail and Galloway Forest Park are nearby, and several beaches line the Solway coast. A village shop and pub are four miles away. The property does not permit smoking.

Loved it! 4 night stay with the grandkids. Remote with only one other cottage next door. The kids could run around outside with no risks. The cottage was clean and well stocked. No wifi and I struggled with phone signal at times but this wasn't an issue. 15 min drive to town for a playpark and Tesco for food. Definitely recommend trying the fish and chip shop. Would definitely book again

Lovely house tucked away at the end of a half mile drive in beautiful wooded grounds. The house is well furnished and comfortable. Very quiet and relaxing. Your main company will be pheasants and partridges running across the lawn and buzzards circling overhead! Great base for exploring the area. Nearest town is Castle Douglas about twenty minutes away. Take care on the drive... it’s a bit twisty and bumpy but the house makes it worthwhile!
