Camping in South Yorkshire

South Yorkshire's camping and glamping sites split neatly between the wooded hills to the west and the flatter, riverside country to the east. Around Penistone and Silkstone, places like Winter Hill Grange and Back O Beyond sit close to the Peak District fringe, useful for walkers and cyclists wanting easy access to the moors above Barnsley and Sheffield.

Further east, the landscape opens out towards Doncaster and the Trent, where sites such as Waterfront Glamping, Between Rivers Camping and Oak Tree Holiday Park and Fishery make the most of quieter, watery surroundings near Sykehouse and West Stockwith. Fishing pitches and canalside pods feature strongly here, a contrast to the farm-based stays typical around Rotherham.
